The Name
There's a little more to PLAASlik.
Plaaslik is the Afrikaans word for local. Look a little closer and you'll find PLAAS - farm - stitched into the name.
That double meaning is the idea behind the brand: something rooted in the South African landscape, made to put to work growing something of your own, right at home.

The Material
From the South African landscape into your garden.
Corrugated steel is part of the scenery here.
You'll find it on farm sheds, water tanks, wine estates and beach cottages - practical, hardworking and unmistakably familiar.
We wanted to take that humble material off the roof and put it to work somewhere else: the garden. The result is a raised bed that keeps the practicality of corrugated steel, while bringing a cleaner, more considered look to the places where we grow.
