Built for our conditions
Sun, rain, changing seasons and the everyday realities of South African gardens all informed the thinking behind the bed.
A raised garden bed born from a familiar material, designed for the way we live, grow and garden in South Africa.
Plaaslik is the Afrikaans word for local. Look a little closer and you'll find PLAAS - farm - stitched into the name.
That double meaning is the idea behind the brand: something rooted in the South African landscape, made to put to work growing something of your own, right at home.
Corrugated steel is part of the scenery here.
You'll find it on farm sheds, water tanks, wine estates and beach cottages - practical, hardworking and unmistakably familiar.
We wanted to take that humble material off the roof and put it to work somewhere else: the garden. The result is a raised bed that keeps the practicality of corrugated steel, while bringing a cleaner, more considered look to the places where we grow.
Corrugated steel has always been about doing a job. PLAASlik gives it a new one.
PLAASlik is proudly designed and manufactured in South Africa. Being local isn't just part of the name - it's part of what the product is.
Sun, rain, changing seasons and the everyday realities of South African gardens all informed the thinking behind the bed.
The aim isn't to make gardening complicated. It's to create a practical frame that gives you a better place to grow.
Choose your finish and length, then make the bed your own with what you decide to grow in it.
We believe good design should make something easier, not make it more complicated.
That's why PLAASlik focuses on a straightforward idea: a strong, modular raised bed that looks at home in a garden and gives you the freedom to grow what you want.
Designed to be useful first.
Made to grow with future additions.
Simple details, deliberately designed.
The PLAASlik frame has been designed with the future in mind, so accessories can be added as the range grows - without replacing the bed you've already bought.
